We’ve been providing eye care in Clackmannanshire and the Scottish Borders for over 75 years and during this time have learnt a thing or two about how to look after our patients.
We have practices in Alloa, Alva, Selkirk and Stenhousemuir offering eye examinations for all ages.
In all 4 R.D McFarlane and Nicol’s Opticians practices you will find a practice full of modern equipment matched with the traditional values of service and professionalism.
Cutting edge OCT scanning is available in Alloa and Alva. We do not charge for OCT where it is indicated as part of the eye exam.
Eye examinations in Scotland are free to all on the NHS. Your eye examination will last at least 30 minutes; this time is spent entirely with your optometrist giving you plenty of opportunity to discuss your test results with them.
We have a large range of frames to suit all ages from budget to designer, including Ray-Ban, O’Neill, CAT and Radley which means you can be sure to find a style that suits you.
We offer the latest lens technology from a variety of manufacturers including Zeiss, Hoya and Nikon.
Being independent, we also have access to a wide range of contact lenses, from Monthlies to Dailies and Multifocals to lenses for astigmatism. If you are patient who already gets their lenses from us and need to order more you can call or email us using the details below.
