Richard P. Spruce Bsc(Hons) MCOptom

Richard qualified in July 2004. He joined McFarlane and Nicol's following a successful pre-registration year at Gartnavel hospital in Glasgow. He has served as chairman of the local area optical committee in the past and is currently a member of Optometry Scotland, an organisation that helps to shape national eyecare services.

He enjoys spending time with his young family, enjoys astronomy as well as supporting football teams Alloa Athletic and Manchester United.

Iain D. McCall Bsc(Hons) MCOptom

Iain qualified in January 2005 after finishing his pre-registration training with a large multiple. He worked as a mobile optometrist covering Strathclyde until July 2006 when he joined McFarlanes. His interests include music and supporting Motherwell F.C.

Douglas Richmond FBDO

Douglas qualified as a dispensing optician in 1998 whilst working for McFarlanes. He began his optical career in his home town of Ayr before joining former colleague Colin in Alloa in 1984. Douglas runs our optical lab which has provided spectacle glazing to all 3 practices since 1988. He is a member of Alloa round table and a keen golfer, footballer, cyclist and hill walker.
