Important information about home visits and COVID-19

Optometrists have been advised by the Scottish Government that, due to Scotland moving in to the “Delay” phase of COVID-19 management, to cease providing domiciliary (home) visits for routine eyecare services with immediate effect. This is to protect those individuals from infection who are in the high risk categories.

We would also like to let our patients know what we are doing in practice to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

We already operate stringent cleaning protocols within each practice. Our consulting rooms and equipment are routinely cleaned with disinfectant wipes between patient appointments.

As handwashing is important in the limiting of the spread of the virus, any patient wishing to wash their hands before or after an appointment should ask a member of staff.  We already use hand sanitiser in each practice and patients are welcome to use this if they wish to. Please ask at reception.

If you have been abroad recently to one of the high risk areas, or suspect you may have been in contact with somebody with coronavirus, or generally feel unwell please call us to reschedule your appointment. Our staff and patient safety is our first priority.
