Transitions Light Intelligent lenses, most of you will have heard of them or have them added to your current frame? I'm Grace I work in our Selkirk practice. I have been participating in a trial over the last week. So, you are thinking why a photo not wearing them! well you may be surprised to know I AM wearing them. As a frequent contact lens wearer I have been trialling the new Acuvue OASYS with Transitions, Light Intelligent Technology, the first-of-its-kind! Keep reading to find out my verdict! First I will tell you a little more. Nearly two out of three people indicate being bothered by light, wearing lenses, I know that feeling, squinting is usual for me, it is not always sunny enough for sunglasses, but too bright to see properly without squinting. These lenses become darker when activated by UV light. While outdoors they are continually changing in response to the light. They also react to indoor light conditions. So were they effective? I was very surprised I liked them as much as I did! The first few days I wore them in the office. They didn't get a lot of light changes to test them, but they were really nice on my eyes, with plenty of moisture, it was a fairly dull week on and off so again it was hard to test them properly other than for comfort. Where I noticed just how good they were, gardening at the weekend. Over a period of 5 hours we had light rain, heavy rain, bright skies, dark skies and even some sunshine!. I would have been taking my sunglasses off, putting them on, getting soaked, the usual. I could not believe how good they were, they did darken very quickly in bright light. Overall verdict:- Thumbs up from me. Very comfortable daily lens. Very quick reaction in bright light situations. They do what they say on the box! I now plan to convert to them for a few months and see how I get on. If you currently participate in outdoor activities or sports, football, cycling, rugby, running, tennis, golf etc Acuvue Oasys Transitions could well be the lens for you. Our opticians would be happy to discuss a free trial in any of our branches. If you are a current contact lens patient and would like to see if these would be suitable for you, please get in touch to arrange a free trial or ask at your next appointment.
